I Giorni

Woooo its been awhile! Busy life keeps me away from my hobbies, yet I am striving to continue to pursue the good ones! I coincidentally chose another Ludovico Einaudi piece to play, as it was a forefront to my recent practice. This one is called I Giorni. It's a peaceful song with nice dynamics. This combination throughout the piece and having it end on a type of climax is just brilliant to me. It provides my soul with a slight reverie from a chaotic world. Please keep sharing with family and friends! Become a follower! Offer feedback if you like or just a feeling or impression you get from viewing the blog/songs. Much love and enjoy!

PS. Still working on the new mic. After the holidays go by it will allow me to figure out the sync between and mic and video.

Dietro Casa

This is a important piece to me for the sole fact that it allows me to drain emotion through it as I play, more so then other songs. It's in a simple way complex, if that makes sense to your minds. I feel that because it is written and supposedly played in this manner, I find it as a great outlet for me. Ludovico Einaudi is the composer of this piece and its called "Dietro Casa," meaning "backyard." It sounds silly but my pinky was giving me some issues and I had to change my fingering the last minute. None the less enjoy the simple complexity this song brings! Please share the blog with family and friends, become a follower, and let this song be a simple outlet for you this week :)

Song for Sienna (Part 1)

This song weighs heavy on the little heart I call mine. Regardless this is something I felt I needed to post and exciting at the same time! All I will say on what to come is, this is only part one! Part two comes with additional  sounds and guest appearances. So stay tuned for a complete rendition of how I would like to portray this song to you.

This song is called Song for Sienna by a west coast artist named Brian Crain. He has created some beautiful sounds so expect to hear more of him in the future. The reason this song moves me is the simple melodies changed up simply to deliver a peaceful sound. Enjoy!

PS. Continue to share, follow the blog, and provide feedback! All is appreciated and helps motivate me to continue : ) (I purchased a new microphone and when I can learn to sync the video and sound it'll be used... sound is 1000% better through it)

Canon in C

This latest installment comes from another northwest artist, Christopher Peacock. When I was younger our family went to Rosario island in the Pudget Sound for my fathers business meeting. One night we dined in the restaurant there and it being a fine dining establishment they had a live pianist. Low and behold it's Christopher Peacock, who at the time I had no clue who he was, playing for the dinner service. After listening to him play a few songs and take requests, I went up and started talking to the man. He was kind, told some stupid jokes, and eventually got to the subject of his craft. I asked him if he played Pachelbel Canon in any variation and he told me he wrote a version in the key of C. I enjoyed the variation and we went our own ways.
A few weeks later I ended up calling his office and asked if they had any publications for any of his music. They indicated to me that they did not, yet I still inquired about this piece and its availability to me. The receptionist was kind and asked my address. Still insisting they didn't have the score, she said she would pass my message along. Another week passed by and I got in the mail a copy of the score from Christopher Peacock for the variation of Canon in C.
I am thankful for a kind receptionist and a kind composer to have put this variation into my life. It's one of my favorites. Pachelbel has been a foundation to the peace I seek in music. Yes it's simple with four chord changes. Yes it's simple sounding. Yes it's played by many if not all pianists in their tenure as such. Thus in it's simplicity it has captivated my mind and I will always enjoy.
I hope this helps start your hour, day, or week off with a positive emotion that you can carry throughout.

Dream of Flying

      So this week I decided to step up the technicality, yet still deliver something quite beautiful. I have enjoyed this song since I heard it a few weeks back and wanted to share it with you. It is called "Dream of Flying" and it's written by a northwest artist named Brian Crain. The technicality and why this week was a hard one to deliver on is explained in this picture;

Regardless it was incredibly fun for me to play. I felt in a dream every time I practiced it. I hope it takes you to a place in which it relaxes you and alleviates your day. Whatever emotion it draws, enjoy!

A Rose named Emma

So I am back! Sorry for the two week break, as a diving trip and wedding took time away from the time here.

I felt to really dig personal on this one and bring out an original composition. In my younger years I remember being judged for the choices I was making by my family, friends, and even community in some cases. At that time of trial in my life I remember a little lady by the name of Emma Rose come into my life. She is my brothers oldest daughter at the age of twelve now. Emma and I clicked from the time she was born and today even have one of the best relationships. There are days I hold dear in my memory spent with Emma when she was younger (2-3 years old), where we would play outside and wear ourselves out. When it was time to come in, we'd get cleaned up and I would rub her feet and hands and she would fall asleep in my arms. I remember feeling of her love for me and knowing she didn't judge me for my choices but loved me for who I was and what I could give. This little lullaby is what stemmed from such an awesome relationship with my dear niece Emma. This one is for you girl! All my love.

Nivoule Bianche

This is probably the most requested song I know how to play. I wanted to share this artist early on with everyone because his music is relaxing and inspirational. This song is written by Ludovico Einaudi and he was introduced to me by my German friend Torben Scheel. I will forever be grateful for that introduction years ago and wish now to introduce you. The name of the song is Nivoule Bianche. I find this song guiding in many ways to me and my wandering mind. Enjoy and don't forget to become a follower! Let those you refer here  know as well to become a follower and check back! Much love!

-Jeremy

PS. Again half volume or lower is best =) I wish I could play them perfectly for you but alas you cannot always have what you want!

The Descent

This first song I chose is called "The Descent" by Michele Mclaughlin and it comes from her album Out of the Darkness. I feel that coming out of my own "Descent," it would be only appropriate to convey it through my own interpretation of playing the piano. I have always been a firm believer that the simple things brew complexities and this song delivers just in that manner. Simple combinations of broken cords and octaves form this beautifully flowing song. I apologize in advance about the raw recording but I promise as I continue to garner support I'll invest in better recording equipment and software. Until then enjoy the raw.

-Jeremy

PS. I am finicky about sounds so if you listen to it half volume down its a slightly better sound =)

Here we go!

After weeks of planning and preparation, I have finally begun. I present to you my piano blog in which I can share with you songs that touch me in some way. I am by no means a professional pianist but will strive to present you with my best. We can grow together in this adventure to explore a diversity of music.

My goal in creating the blog is to provide you, the readers, with something or someplace you can come to find a reprieve from your week. I will be posting Sunday mornings every one to two weeks a new song. I hope to present to you with artists in which you can seek out on your own and even support them if you enjoy what they bring to the music scene.

Please share with your family and friends! Invite them to come read and listen. Leave comments and feedback and I will respond and be interactive with what is given. Before you leave today, become a follower of the blog and come back frequently listening to the old and looking forward to the new.
